HEPHAESTUS [break] WHAT DOES YOUR CHARACTER MEAN TO THEIR CIVILIZATION? [break] Hephaestus is one of the lesser Gods of the Greek Pantheon, meaning he's of no great importance to the civilization as a whole. He is really only important to those who make use of his specialties; mainly blacksmiths, and occasionally warmongers. He may have a few temples, but they are likely in disrepair and bland. [break][break] WHAT LEGENDS REVOLVE AROUND YOUR CHARACTER? [break] Hephaestus is the child of Hera, Queen of the Gods though his sire is unknown. He was born however without a left arm, and his mother threw him from Olympus to die because of this. He was found and raised by Thetis and Eurynome, and gifted a new arm by them. Legend says he learned the secrets of the forge on the Island of Lemnos, and was granted full God-hood once more and was made the Forgemaster on Mount Olympus. [break][break] HOW WAS YOUR CHARACTER BORN/CREATED? [break] Hephaestus was born to Hera, Queen of the Gods, though his father is unknown. Some speculate that it was Zeus, but most think otherwise. When he was born, he was born without a left arm and his mother threw him from Mount Olympus to die. He was most luckily, rescued. [break][break] WHAT DOES YOUR GOD LOOK LIKE? [break] Hephaestus is precisely what one would expect of a God of Fire and Forge. He is extremely tall, broad, and heavily muscled. His skin is on the darker side, and he has many scars. He rarely wears a shirt and is not overly concerned with keeping clean. His long, thick and wiry black hair is usually kept back; very rarely is it free, as that would be ridiculous and Hephaestus is a very practical creature. [break][break] WHAT DOES YOUR GOD ACT LIKE? [break] Heph is a grumbler. He is not big on talking, and often comes across as simple-minded because of it. He does not mind if he has a reputation for being nothing more than a hulking brute however, and often cultivates this as he enjoys his privacy. He's very simple in his ways and does not really bother trying to hide his emotions. He wears his heart on his non-existent sleeve and is always extremely honest and sincere. He is very patient and though he has a strong warrior intimidation about him, he very rarely acts outwardly aggressive. [break][break] WHAT ARE THEIR PRIMARY DUTIES TO THEIR PEOPLE? [break] Hephaestus answers prayers regarding fire and forges, though his duties are relatively minor. [break][break] WHAT POWERS DOES YOUR CHARACTER POSSESS? [break] Hephaestus can manipulate fire and is a forgemaster, there is nothing he cannot forge and the thinks he does make are far superior to anything else.
