VÁR [break] WHAT DOES YOUR CHARACTER MEAN TO THEIR CIVILIZATION? [break] Vár is the one who presides over all contracts, oaths, and vows, with her main focus being on vows associated with marriage. It is her responsibility to ensure that those who pledge themselves in love and marriage are and remain true to their vows. May the gods spare those who break their contracts as a less pleasant duty of her's is to punish the oathbreakers. [break][break] WHAT LEGENDS REVOLVE AROUND YOUR CHARACTER? [break] There are many and if your hand has ever clasped another's in holy matrimony, you have starred in one of your very own. Few legends have been written about her despite her name being on the tip of all newlyweds' tongues. This is not her only focus as Vár also holds the power of judge and jury over all those who concoct contract, oaths, or other agreements. It is said that she will be invoked the moment the vow is shattered to instill punishment on all guilty parties. [break][break] HOW WAS YOUR CHARACTER BORN/CREATED? [break] Vár was born from the spoken promises between the first marriage ever procured. [break][break] WHAT DOES YOUR GOD LOOK LIKE? [break] Like a porcelain knife, Vár is the marriage between sharp edges and gentle curves. Her skin, while fair as the purest of cream, is not a bloodless sheet of colorless flesh. Perhaps it is the fiery nest of hair upon her head and that shares its glorious shade with her cheeks or her green eyes. Or perhaps she is simply lucky enough to receive the perfect amount of flush to differentiate her from a sickly pallor. But her complexion is not all that is to be seen! Vár, as mentioned, is pointed in appearance. Her jaw is elegant yet finely edged as whatever fat of childhood has long melted away. The same can be said for the rest of her although muscle has replaced the tender flesh she bore in youth. Places where life touches last, such as her cheeks, bear the last resemblances of soft innocence. Even the way she portrays herself in both first impressions and gait are harsh and meaningful, never once giving into naivety. [break][break] WHAT DOES YOUR GOD ACT LIKE? [break] Approachable but ruthless, Vár is not a woman to underestimate. While she savors justice to be given at the hand of her superiors, she is not below handing it out herself. Those times, however, are the moments when she either embarrasses herself or leads to another rung from the ladder of respect to be plucked from beneath her feet. You see, Vár has her own way of doing things despite her living a life that treads as close as possible to the rulebook. Her ways are often questioned, especially her views on truth and honesty, but I assure you she begs more questions from her peers than they could ever ask of her. It's highly likely this constant questioning, judging, and page flipping are the reasons why Vár prefers a life away from the piercing gaze of her fellow Norse gods and goddesses. Or it could simply be her disdain for the path humanity has chosen for itself that her need for control and order draws her further and further towards the earthen realm. Whatever the reason is, Vár is distant as distant can be which doesn't do any good for the persona she wishes others would see. She is kind, honest to a fault, and maternal over her own but it is awful hard to fulfill the duty of being the personification of truth and purity when her eyes mirror the judgement she feels so strongly in her heart. [break][break] WHAT ARE THEIR PRIMARY DUTIES TO THEIR PEOPLE? [break] She is the embodiment of truth and honesty and places emphasis upon the concepts among her people. Her primary duty above all others is to ensure the sanctity of marriage before it is consummated as well as any wrongdoings made after the two have become one. [break][break] WHAT POWERS DOES YOUR CHARACTER POSSESS? [break] Vár holds the ability to appear during the moment of agreement in an oath, mainly marriages. She also possess the divine right of judgement over those who break their contracts--whatever they may be--under her jurisdiction. [break][break] HAVE YOU READ ALL THE SITE RULES? [break] Yes!
